Miriam’s Thoughts – April 9, 2020

April 18, 2020 by Jeff Romine

Ask and it will be given you:  More masks for the nurses—serious masks…

Seek and you will find:  Retired health-care workers to bring relief…

Knock and the door will be opened to you:  Someone to tell me how I can help…For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door will be opened.”  Matt. 7:7-8 NIV

Let us beware of weakening the Word with our human wisdom.  When He tells us Heavenly things, let us believe Him;  His Word will explain itself to the person who believes it fully.  If questions and difficulties arise, let us not seek to have them settled before we accept the Word.  No; let us entrust them all to Him; it is His to solve them; our work is first and fully to accept and hold fast His promise.

Murray, Andrew  With Christ In the School of Prayer Fleming Revell Old Tappan 1981 pg 33

This blog is not meant to be a short course in Theology.  I don’t plan to walk the rocky path of any denominations’ theoretical road to Glory!!  I am having a hard enough time standing up on flat cement surfaces, much less anything rocky.  Thus my ever-present Trekking Poles that accompany me everywhere.  Young people look at me as if I didn’t know this is not the season for snow in Las Vegas!  Strange looks or not, it is amazing how much confidence those skinny rods give me!  Balance is critical in every dimension of our lives.

Having said all that, walking every day with Jesus requires a whole lot of faith, i.e., believing what He said is actually true.  Those verses at the top of today’s blog are not statements for us to water down so they will fit our circumstances.  How far can you trust God?
